General Information:

Location:

The Ranch is located in the beautiful Bitterroot Valley surrounded by the Bitterroot Mountains to the west and the Sapphire Mountains to the east. Our ranch location is 5 miles west of the sleepy little town of Victor, Montana population (few). We are 35 miles south of the city of Missoula. State Highway 93 connects the entire valley, so access in and out of the ranch is simple and easy for the traveler.

Transportation:

Several major carriers serve the Missoula International Airport (MSO), which is located 45 miles north of the ranch. The Hamilton Airport is a favorite landing spot for private aircraft, and it is much closer, 15 miles away. Free transportation to and from the airports may be arranged.

Ranch History:

The ranch was established in the early 1970’s and had mainly served as an outfitting business. The Caniglia Family purchased Wildlife Adventures in 1999, which has resulted in added amenities to the existing business. Our services have expanded and we are now offering a variety of activities geared towards family vacations, Bed and Breakfast, youth programming, guest ranch activities, holiday parties, special events, and business planning meetings. The ranch is situated on 380 plus acres, which borders the Bitterroot National Forest, with over 1 million acres of recreation.

What is a Guest Ranch? Well it’s not a motel or hotel, it’s, a home away from home operated by the Caniglia family, and their diverse staff! We enjoy serving our guests by sharing our western lifestyle with them.

Wildlife Adventures Guest Ranch Accommodations

Lodge:

We offer a Log Guest Lodge with over 6000 square feet of western hospitality. Upstairs in the Lodge there are 4 upgraded rooms that are fully self-contained with 2 double beds in each room.  Downstairs there are 2 upgraded suites with a large King bed in each room. All rooms are non-smoking and have their own theme, so if you’re after a western flair, you’ve found the right place.

The Lodge has a beautiful arranged Great Room, which includes an massive rock fireplace, pool table, no host bar, large screen TV/VCR. Outside you can enjoy our hot tub and redwood deck with barbecue and picnic tables. We have a large rock bonfire pit outside the lodge with log seating, so you can enjoy roasting marshmallows or making your favorite smore’s.

Our guest ranch is a registered member of the American Automobile Association (AAA) and we are diamond rated. For additional information regarding the lodge and facility you can find us in their tour book or call us direct at the ranch.

All meals are served in our dining room, which is located off the Great Room or you can step outside and have a barbecue on the patio. Our meals are all homemade and served by our professional staff. Ranch meals and services have been rated the best to be found anywhere, by satisfied guests, who have traveled the world over.

Bunkhouse:

For the real adventurous we have a bunkhouse that has also been updated. In the bunkhouse are 4 rooms (3 small private rooms and 1 large priviate room). Each room sleeps a minimum of 4 people. All bunk beds and furniture were made right here in Montana out of peeled logs. A common door connects two of the bunkhouse rooms, this allows a large party the ability to sleep up to 10 people. Each room has a TV/VCR, microwave, and coffeepot. All rooms are non-smoking.

The comfort of the lounge at the lodge is just a stone’s throw from the bunkhouse.

The only amenity that is not included in your bunkhouse room is a private bathroom facility. But, at the end of the boardwalk adjacent to the bunkhouse rooms you’ll find two newly remodeled bath facilities, one for the cowboys and the other for those cowgirls. Each bathhouse has 2 private stalls and 3 private showers. As you can see we have gone all out in updating our facility for your authentic western vacation. Give this a try, you will treasure the memories forever.

Hiking:

Grab your daypack, picnic basket, fishing pole or whatever else you may need for a day out on the trails in the beautiful mountains surrounding the ranch. There are numerous trails to hike and all are just waiting for you and your family to explore. If you would like us to furnish a guide or if you just want to be on your own you’ll enjoy everything the Bitterroot has to offer. While on the trail you will have the opportunity to view wildlife in their natural habitat, then enjoy a picnic during your noon break. Don’t forget your camera!! See our majestic snow capped peaks and valley meadows carpeted with wildflowers. After a full day out on the trail you’ll return to the Lodge and sit down to a home cooked meal prepared by our cook. Let us know if you would like us furnish a guide.
